The School Magazine
The School Magazine has been around for more than 100 years – that’s a lot older than me! Created within the Education Department of the NSW Govt, they produced their first issue in 1916. Over the years, many writing and illustrating creators have contributed and seen their work appear in its pages.
I’m one of those creators. My first story appeared in 2005, and I am still contributing and being published to this day. It is always a thrill to find a brand new magazine in my letterbox, featuring one of my stories, beautifully illustrated and brought to life by talented Australian artists.
The School Magazine is an amazing resource for primary school aged children, and it comes packed with a broad range of literary and artistic material. Many schools subscribe so that they can share curriculum related content and inspire a love of literature in their classrooms.

One of the joys of being published in The School Magazine is having a magnificent illustrator assigned to bring your words to life.

And yes, if you visit my house, you’ll most likely find some cobwebs!
